I Think I Can, I Think I Can...

I'm trying to get a game plan together for my reading for this challenge - of course I do this every year and it sure didn't help last year!

I'm grateful that my hubby minored in English in college and that we've moved all of the books he read many times so that I was able to find The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, a full collection of Charles Dickens' books, and Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I'm planning to read the Hemingway, the Twain, and at least one of the Dickens for this challenge plus I was also able to scrounge off of our shelves William Faulkner's The Sound And The Fury and Rebecca Wells' The Divine Secrets of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood. I'll possibly add a re-read of Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca (now what shelf is that on?) and probably will read Michel Faber's The Crimson Petal and The White.  Then I'm up in the air as to whether or not I'll do a couple of movies to round things out or do more reading.

When you sign up for challenges, do you make a plan at the beginning or do you wing it? If you've made a plan, what's on your agenda for this challenge this year?

  1. I made a plan. It also includes watching some classic movies that I seem to have missed along the way. Some of the books may change, such as reading "Gone with the Wind" in Jan has changed to "the perks of being a wildflower" Plus I am already behind but still hope to hit the Rory level this year. You can see my list on my blog here:

  2. Enjoy the reading. Some lovely books that you have there!
